This Giving Tuesday, we’re honoring that love with a giveaway that’s straight from the heart—a custom pet drawing, a custom pattern, and fundraising support for an incredible animal rescue, shelter, or charity.
But before we dive into the details, let me share why this giveaway means so much to me and the roots of Pet Obsessed People.
Where It All Began: Vanity and a Vision
Pet Obsessed People didn’t start as a grand idea or a big business plan. It began in the quiet moments spent with my first rescue dog, Vanity—a sweet pup who was sooo much more than just a pet. She was my best friend, my confidante, my soul dog. Vanity had this uncanny ability to make even the hardest days feel lighter, and she inspired me to start drawing.
It all started with a simple need. I couldn't find anything that looked like my dogs, so a simple idea began, why not draw them myself. I wanted to create something that celebrated her unique quirks and personality, so I began sketching her and putting her likeness on products. It was a fun hobby.
Then, life threw me a curveball. Vanity passed away, leaving an irreplaceable hole in my heart. To honor her memory, I launched a small fundraiser, selling products featuring her drawing to support the rescue who saved her, The Sato Project. The response was overwhelming and the fundraiser was a success. In that moment, I realized this wasn’t just about me or my grief—it was about celebrating the pets who change our lives and supporting the causes that fight for them every day.
And so, Pet Obsessed People was born.
